Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1977)

One morning my dad was looking for something to watch on TV and just when I was going to grab some breakfast and talk to him a bit, he had stopped on a channel airing a Sinbad movie. The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973) to be exact.

Unfortunately it was practically ending when I got there, but it still managed to grab my attention. If I remember correctly the colors were very nice and bright, but that the least of it. What was truly eye-catching were the visual effects created by Ray Harryhausen.

So when I saw another Sinbad movie was starting right after that one ended, I decided to stay to see more of those effects. And I got what I wanted~

There is something weirdly fascinating about them. Like the stuff we can see now is way fancier and more realistic, and these in comparison look pretty awkward and dorky. But that's part of their charm too. It's so magical.

But honestly, other than that, this movie was kinda boring. The Golden Voyage of Sinbad looked more entertaining, but maybe I just feel that way because I caught the end and that's where the exciting stuff happens. I tried to watch it another day it was on that channed again but the TV was acting weird for some reason and I couldn't. It was very disappointing and I haven't tried again yet.
